The Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1948, is a not-for-profit organization of local business people working to benefit the Mahopac-Carmel area. There are currently more than 450 business members in the chamber of commerce.

The Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce holds monthly dinner meetings for the general membership, as well as periodic breakfast meetings and monthly board of directors meetings. The chamber is also involved in many business and community-oriented happenings.

The Italian American Club of Mahopac is dedicated to enriching the lives of community residents through social and cultural events that reflect its members' rich Italian heritage. The club has many first and second generation members of Italian decent. Since the foundation of the Italian American Club of Mahopac in 1929, it has been a place for those of Italian heritage to bond together to insure their Italian culture in upheld, encouraged, and passed on throughout the area.

The Putnam Arts Council (PAC) is a not-for-profit arts service organization chartered in 1963 by the State of New York. PAC is the voice for the arts in Putnam County, and maintains a leadership role in promoting, fostering, and perpetuating the visual, performing and literary arts in the county and environs. Programs include exhibitions, Art in Public Places, workshops in the visual and performing arts, a summer arts camp, concerts, theatre performances, advocacy, technical assistance workshops, studio tours and special events.

The Town of Carmel Historical Society, founded in 1977, is a nonprofit organization chartered by the New York State Education Department Board of Regents. Its mission statement addresses the preservation of and education about local history. It is an all-volunteer service organization managed by a board of four officers and 12 trustees.
